The NSF Eddie Bernice Johnson INCLUDES National Network 2024 Topical Conference, Designing for Accessibility and Student Success in STEM, will take place Sunday, November 17 through Tuesday, November 19 at the BWI Airport Marriott in Linthicum Heights, MD.
This inaugural conference has specifically been designed for INCLUDES National Network members in Cluster 1 (large-scale NSF-funded projects such as Alliances and Collaborative Change Consortia). The Alliance of Students with Disabilities for Inclusion, Networking, and Transition Opportunities in STEM (TAPDINTO-STEM) and INCLUDES Coordination Hub have co-created this event to explore accessibility and universal design in various STEM environments, from education pathways to workforce settings. Attendees will learn from experts and gain actionable strategies to enhance inclusion in STEM education and workforce settings.

- Breakout sessions with topics including optimizing student-professor communications, creating smooth transitions into the STEM workforce, and effective mentoring and advocacy
- Specific time reserved for teams to meet and collaborate on project goals or next steps from learnings
Activities for Backbones & PIs:
- November 17th: Pre-conference session to provide cross project connections and capacity building activities for those supporting in a Backbone function
- November 19th: Specific networking breakfast and funder panel for PIs and project leads
