HBCU Making & Innovation Series - STEM & Social Entrepreneurship: Modeling Social Justice Engagement

This webinar is part of our inaugural HBCU Making and Innovation series. The speaker is Deirdre Robinson of Detroit, Michigan. She is the Founder and CEO of EUMELANIN, a clothing and jewelry brand that merges her scientific and creative identities. The name of the company comes from Eumelanin - the most abundant type of human melanin found in brown and black skin and hair. Deirdre will share her journey in STEM and social entrepreneurship, as well as, advice and insights to support innovators of color and an inclusive innovation community of practice. Participants will also learn tips on how they can leverage their STEM expertise to address issues in their community and how they can adapt to and utilize this new paradigm we are in regarding how we learn, teach and work during a pandemic and social unrest.
