The LS-PAC MODELS Center provides mentorship, professional learning, and networking opportunities for historically underrepresented STEM undergraduate and graduate students, post-doctoral fellows, and early-career faculty.
We are an NSF-funded Louis Stokes Regional Center of Excellence. We offer mentoring, professional development, and career networking opportunities for historically underrepresented scholars (African-American/Black, American Indian or Alaska Native, and Hispanic/Latino) in STEM. Our goal is to increase diversity in academia by encouraging undergraduate students to pursue advanced STEM degrees and providing graduate students, postdocs, and early-career faculty with the resources and guidance they need to have successful careers in academia.
Participants in our program will have the opportunity to:
- Be mentored by one or more STEM professionals who can help provide career guidance and skill development.
- Meet and network with leading professionals and scholars within their field to build career connections.
- Receive access to professional development courses designed to enhance the ability to obtain a career in academia.
- Be a mentor to other STEM scholars.
