The STEM Leadership Alliance is a broad-based coalition composed of industry leaders, educators, non-profit organizations and foundations committed to helping schools incorporate integrated STEM into K-12 curricula to support and develop individuals prepared not just for college and career but also for lifelong learning and societal contribution.
STEM is so often used as an acronym, that it creates a disconnection between the class and the community. Therefore, Integrated STEM must be addressed through the key principles defined by Advance CTE, Association of State Supervisors of Mathematics, Council of State Science Supervisors, and International Technology and Engineering Educators Association:
Principle 1: Integrated STEM education should advance the learning of each individual STEM discipline
Principle 2: Integrated STEM education should provide logical and authentic connections between and across the individual STEM disciplines
Principle 3: Integrated STEM education should serve as a bridge to STEM careers
Join NASA, the major STEM Associations, Museums, the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, Foundations, Business Leaders, State Education Leaders, District Leaders, and School Leaders as they share and discuss best practices in integrated STEM.
