The STEM Core Alliance presents a workshop for college mathematics faculty:

Building Student Confidence in Math Through Active Pedagogies

Friday, March 11, 10:30-12:30 PT/1:30-3:30 ET

STEM Core Math Professors Sumaya McCleave and Frank Gonzalez of Saddleback College and Beth O’Reilly of Anne Arundel Community College have found that inquiry-based, active pedagogies help precalculus students develop a growth mindset and greater confidence in themselves as math learners. Join this workshop to learn how they collaborated to scale these practices across their departments and the differences they’ve seen these approaches making! In breakout discussions we will share your own experiences and lessons learned from using active pedagogies, and gain hands-on practice with 3 open-ended lesson modules you can use with your students. Participants will also receive free enrollment in a three-hour online training for centering growth mindset in your practice.
