NEean invites you to join a COMMUNITY of PRACTICE for two days of interactive professional development and networking.  Since the summer, as you may know or perhaps even attended, the Network has offered a webinar series on the ways in which higher education assessment can contribute to overcoming the legacies of racism and discrimination.  The annual Fall Forum will continue this theme and work by providing participants with time and space to create small communities of practice.  Organized by institutional role or institutional sector, each community of practice will connect with and learn from each other through the two days of meetings.  In addition to this active networking, participants will also enjoy an opening keynote address, a series of presentations, including short “one particular idea” and “how do I assess this?” conversations, and a plenary panel that will explore how to move towards anti-racist assessment practices.

Regardless of whether you’re a seasoned veteran of assessment or new to the work, regardless of whether you’re a teaching or research faculty, or whether you’re an administrator, regardless of whether you’re at a Community College or a Research University, the Fall Forum is for you.  Indeed, as clearly stated in our organization’s name, we are a NETWORK of higher education professionals throughout New England, who are committed to furthering the best practices of assessment.  This year we have concentrated our efforts on making a difference when it comes to equitable assessment, and our annual gathering at the Fall Forum promises to move that work even further along.
